Nearly four decades of leadership in collegiate retail, education, website development, systems
management and product distribution. This experience has provided a broad-based perspective and organization/project management expertise gained from a variety of industry and business experiences and responsibilities.
My professional journey began following graduation from the University of Missouri. First in Kansas City, Missouri with the Metropolitan Community Colleges as the district bookstore manager and accounting professor at Penn Valley Community College. From there I became responsible for customer technology development and implementation first with Missouri Book Services in Columbia, Missouri followed by the Follett Higher Education Group in Chicago, Illinois. Moving within Follett into strategic planning where we planned the relocation of the company from Chicago's near-West side to a Western suburban location without disruption of business or the loss of a single employee.
The National Association of College Stores as the Director of Industry Services and Associate Executive Director brought us to Northeast Ohio. The challenges at NACS involved a variety of national industry initiatives including oversight of the industry education and technology implementations. Development included the national EDI ordering network and the planning and implementation of the industry’s first e-commerce solution.
Immediately prior to forming Focetare Initiatives my role was in operations of the Retail Alliance trade group in Philladelphia, Pennsylvania. Responsibilites included day-to-day operating officer duties for the trade group and for the systems development company the trade group had acquired to serve the Retail Alliance membership.
